4wdID App Privacy Policy
We process personal information only to the extent needed for app functionality. We do not use IDFA or track users across apps.
Information we process
- Phone number for SMS login and account security.
- Email address for email login, account security, and necessary service notices.
- Name or display name for account, course, certification, and community display.
- Precise location, with permission, for Off-road Mode, trip recording, nearby trail check-ins, and map display. Precise location is sensitive personal information.
Location and tracks
Tracks are stored locally by default. They are linked to an account and uploaded only when the relevant capability is available, the user is eligible, and separate consent has been given. Displaying a map does not mean a track has been uploaded.
Sharing, logs, errors, and public content should not expose raw precise coordinates. Future processing stops according to the user's choice after location or cloud-sync consent is withdrawn.
AMap iOS Map SDK
After the SDK and key are configured and the user has agreed to the relevant privacy terms, the AMap iOS Map SDK may provide base maps, trail and track display, and optional foreground location. AMap may process coarse or precise location and device information such as model, system, network, or carrier data under its policy. The SDK is not initialized before consent.
Apple MapKit
When AMap is not ready or available, Apple MapKit acts as the iOS system fallback for map and location display. Apple processes related map and location requests under its privacy policy. MapKit does not require 4wdID to store a map key.
Sharing, tracking, and security
- No IDFA and no cross-app tracking.
- Personal information is processed only for service delivery, legal obligations, and security audit needs.
- This page never exposes account details, contacts, precise coordinates, credentials, or tokens.
Account deletion and lawful retention
When Account & Privacy is available in the app, users can submit account deletion, data export, or consent withdrawal requests. Account deletion enters a cooling-off and human-review queue and does not immediately destroy records that must be retained. Orders, contracts, payment evidence, security audits, and SOS records may be retained for applicable legal periods.
